Too much is just too much

My favorite group, U2, says "Too much is not enough." Well in this case, too much is just that—too much. This is what I mean when I talk about the typical "Dallas look." Some of this stuff is lovely, I admit, but when this seems to be all that anyone carries in one's town, it’s a little crazy making. This kind of stuff epitomizes the ubiquitous affordable store décor products around here:

Even Homegoods, TJMaxx, Marshalls and Ross fall into this category much of the time.

Thankfully, the city is salvaged by places like Bova, Roche-Bobois, DWR, West Elm, Ligne Roset, Z Gallerie, Crate & Barrel, Eurway, Cantoni, Scott+Cooner, not to mention the whole Knox-Henderson area and the Dallas Design District (although I have noticed that some of their websites are so tiresomely outre, they can make one feel—as Decorno would say—stabby). Stop with the Flashy madness, people, and just give us the goods!
